  • A Heuristic Approach to Task Scheduling and Memory Partitioning for Multiprocessor System-on-Chip

Maria Glenny and Shafiq Mansoor,Karpagam University, India.
    Abstract

MPSoC architecture uses multiple processors which provides the flexibility to meet the performance needs of multimedia applications. Almost all embedded systems employ software-managed memories known as scratch-pad memories (SPM). SPMs are software controlled and hence the execution time of applications can be accurately predicted. Schedul ing the tasks and memo ry partitioning ar e two different portions in an embedded application. Scheduling the tasks and memory partitioning are two different port ions in an embedded applicat ion. Such a decoupled approach increases the execution time. In this paper we present an integrated approach to task scheduling and SPM partitioning to further reduce the execution time of embedded applications by round robin scheduling. This proposed technique is applied to real-time benchmark applications to show the significant improvement of our integrated approach. Simple scalar s imulator is used to show some of the profiling data's .

  • Monitoring the efficiency of workflow in industry and secure access using NFC and Ethernet

Sakthees Waran Christopher Raja , Selva Ganesh Sankara Narayana and Rajesh Mohan, Maamallan Institute Of Technology,India.
    Abstract

Mobile phones have evolved from their usual function of calling to a lot more in the last decade, the 4G networks are being used for microwave access, But the use of mobile in field of Tele-monitoring is still a open issue. In this paper we propose a system which uses NFC(Near Field Communication) in mobile phones for monitoring various machine related details such as current, voltage, vibration, inter dislocation, etc..
